The Coat.

Are the two rocks that shape the Coat of Chiapas. According to legend this place is where los chiapas jumped to river, to avoid falling under the Spaniards rule. We often see the spider monkey and crocodile in the area.

The Castle.

Considered one of the highest cliffs of Sumidero Canyon, has an approximate height of 1000 meters from the water surface and a depth of approximately 200 meters.

The Cave of Silence.

The cave takes its name because inside you can not hear any echo. It is approximately 18 meters long and 10 meters height. At its entrance you can admire different shapes formed by stalactites.

The Hippocampus.

It’s a stalactite with the form of a hippocampus, is located in a cave in the middle-upper left side of the canyon. It is precisely here where the grand and impressive Sumidero Canyon starts.

The Cave of Colors.

Its name is derived from the reflection of different shades in the top of the cave, highlighting the mexican pink, due to runoff mineral that occurs through the rocks.

The Garden.

It is a hillside area where there is lush vegetation similar to that of a garden, flowers predominate (bougainvillea of different colors) to become worthy landscape for visitors. (Now an ecotouristic park).

Isle of Solitude (the bell).

Its top is shaped like a bell, hence the derivation of its name. Here pelicans nest.

The Footprint

In the middle of the canyon wall  is engraved the footprint of a huge left foot.

Chicoasen Dam.

It is considered man-made wonder. The curtain has a length of 200 meters and its depth is 260 meters. The construction took five years, is on a slope, has installed 5 turbines of which are currently working 3. Here you can see the splendor of this magnificent hydropower work.

Silver Cord.

It is a waterfall, giving the impression that is silver in liquid form. (It can be seen only in rainy season).

The Christmas Tree

Considered the most imposing waterfall because of its height and vegetation formed by moisture, the image resembles a Christmas tree. The breeze of falling water becomes the angel hair in the imagination of those who visit, giving the viewer a whole a unique look. Here is where the cliffs of the canyon end.
